Next Up Basketball Family is a youth basketball training and skills program as well as an AAU club for kids of all ages. We focus primarily on player development and character development. The goal isn’t to just create good players, the goal is to teach kids to be the best version of themselves, on and off the court. Coach Ben
NextUp was founded by Coach Ben Herrington. Ben started off his coaching career as a player/coach in 1994, in Bristol, CT. In addition to coaching NextUp, Coach Ben is also a PGC Coach and an IAABO certified basketball official.
Coach Chrys
Coach Chrys Malone’ basketball career started at a very young age in his hometown of Springfield, Ma. Chrys had a very successful High School career in both basketball and track & field. Chrys was one of the top point guards and sprinters in the state of Massachusetts . Chrys played 2 full seasons of college basketball before transitioning into coaching in 2015. Chrys has spent the last 9 years coaching a mixture of high school and youth sports. In 2019 Coach Chrys was inducted into the Springfield Public Schools High School Hall of Fame. He is currently a police officer at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Coach Billy
Coach Billy Galipeau played highschool basketball at McCann Tech in his home town of North Adams. He has spent the last 3 years volunteering as a youth basketball coach for the Wilbraham Parks and Rec program in the Quabbin Valley league. Currently he works as a mechanical engineer at Andritz in Springfield MA.
